Re: New ride
And a silver engine and presumably the transmission as well. Like the painted small OEM top box.
Re: New ride
BMW does white beautifully. And white bikes without stripes are rare.

Very nice.
Interesting with the silver, but I still prefer the black engine etc on mine 8)

Wow, that is a crazy number of miles, you have earned a new bike! Any words of wisdom for the rest of us RT owners after that many miles?

Re: New ride
I have had 3 BMW's with a total of 408,000 miles between them. If I have learned anything it would be to maintain them but don't over maintain. This bike went to the dealer 2 times for recall and warranty. I serviced it myself and saved a lot of money.timminator wrote:

It has original clutch, rear drive, and everything else except rotors, and an overhaul of the ABS module by Module Masters.

Re: New ride
Interesting to see the engine in silver, thought they were all black now. When I bought my Alpine White recently I wasn't given an option. Maybe the black engines are country specific? Are you in the USA?

Re: New ride
That's interesting, obviously Texas is a lot dryer than UK and you probably never have salt put on the roads so maybe the black paint isn't required or offered on US bikes. Anyone else out there care to comment.

Re: New ride
I live in the saltiest place on earth-- eastern Canada. 10 year old cars literally rust off their wheels. Salt in the air, salt on the roads. All my BMW bikes have had silver running gear, including my 2016 RT. Ive never had a problem with corrosion. And I run well into December and well below freezing.

Re: New ride
Praise indeed. And then you get owners who's bikes corrode more than once in a very short time. You have to wonder why.
