Thanks for your comments guys.Loving the RT that much I already covered 610 miles and first service isn't due until the 4th May, so its parked up until then.  :(  But gives me time to polish her.
The Mrs says I'm a bit sad as I have a BMW GT in Carbon Black and spent Sunday evening washing the pair of them,  She just states Boys and there Toys  :)

The BMW Running-in Check is due between 500 - 1200 km (300 - 750 miles),  if the bike is booked in for a service, is there no tolerance on the mileage limit.

If not, ask the dealer to loan you a bike.

I asked the dealer what I was allowed to do mileage wise as they couldn't book it in any sooner than the 4th.

Reply was "600 mile service should be carried out on or around 600 miles" that told me......the sales rep did state up to but no more than 1000 but with it having a couple of running issues I want to keep it as close to 600 as possible so I can't be accused of voiding any warranty.

Ride into the dealers, ask them to fix the running issues while you wait, if they can't, they should lend you a bike.

Ask him to put it in writing.

You've paid £1,000's of pounds for this bike and want to use it over the Bank Holiday weekend.

I'll drop the sales rep an email that way I get it in writing without actually asking him formally to put it in writing to me. (if that makes sense)

The running issues I will live with as it's :
Engine hunting around 3k-4k revs which makes riding smooth bit of a trick....
I need to sit at lights etc with the clutch pulled in as the trust / release bearing noise is embarrassing

I'll let you know what they say.

Bike looks great, love the colour. But if you want to do a straight swap for my 2014 which is painted in the fatest colour of Quartz Blue, just let me know. Enjoy  8)

Sorry Casber, I don't think I could handle the power and speed of a Quartz Blue....better stick with the Carbon Black.

The first service at 600 miles must be a guide mileage as the dealer has stated not to exceed 1000 miles before its booked in date.
Good of them as I can play out over the bank holiday weekend now  :)

Have a quick read of the handbook.  There is a section on running in and the mileage allowed.  Such things are hardly ever read by salesmen .

I did ask him twice and he's kindly put it in writing to me.
"The mileage will not be a problem as long as you try not to exceed 1,000 miles"

I won't get near 1000 more like 800 (weather pending)

Well done Michael, that's a result, enjoy any weekend riding you do.

Hope you didn't mind me making the suggestion.
