Re: Alternative 'Northern Monkeys' June Meet 2017
Further to our earlier discussion, do we have a consensus yet on doing a longer ride, similar to the one below in reverse or David's option 4. Obviously weather dependant and may have relevance on our start time?
161 miles in just over 4 hours + 3 stops excluding start and finish. A good day's work.

Re: Alternative 'Northern Monkeys' June Meet 2017
As those who have expressed an interest in attending so far, are all around an hour from Wetherby, how about making it a 10:30 departure from Morrisons Cafe.
Weather permitting, 4 hours riding plus 3 stops is fine with me.
I'll come prepared with the routes shown below, that way, we can "mix & match" both k9doc's & David's route offerings, if that's what folks would like to do.
Once again, nothing needs to be set in stone, it's everyone's day out to enjoy and contribute too.

Re: Alternative 'Northern Monkeys' June Meet 2017
Seems to be a common theme. My first encounter with David resulted in a 4-5 hour wait for recovery and a 2-3 hour lift home listening to a manic recovery driver. Cause- faulty RH switch gear. Mind, at least it was a sunny day and waiting on David's drive with ample supplies of tea. Could have been on top of Stanhope Moor in the pi$$ing rain, so not as bad as might have been. Bike started first time in my garage the next morning but still shipped off to Rainbow who diagnosed and replaced the faulty switch. Brassed off having to pay my £100 xs for a known fault so sold that bike the next week. Talk about 'Act in haste, repent at leisure'. Seem to get dafter as I get older.Mike wrote: Thanks Chris. Aha! David is the common denominator. Bike came back from Dealership Service Wednesday before the Saturday trip with David. Rode it off delivery van with brake failure. Rode it back onto van and asked them to fix. Whilst fitting ABS module fractured fuel lines then when fitting new fuel lines broke cruise return cable!!! Bike arrived back on my drive 10:30. Just as you chaps were leaving.

Can't fault your commitment Mike, you've got a "fair old trek" to Wetherby.Mike wrote:10:30 Saturday 3rd June Wetherby Morrison's Cafe. Will be there a bit earlier for Breakfast as travelling up from South.
It's "swings & roundabouts", I ended up doing the most miles last time out, being 90 miles from home at the arranged end of ride departure point.
I'll be aiming to get there around 10:00 for my first P&T stop of the day.

To add to this, was riding back from Whitby last night and one of the boys suffered a puncture.Mike wrote:David is the common denominator.
Once when I had AutoAid personal breakdown cover, (not vehicle specific), I rode from home to Scarborough to rescue a fellow RT owner, he didn't have his own recovery details with him.
No such luxury this time, got a bike specific BMW warranty inc. emergency service.
Best make sure your own breakdown recovery is valid & up to date.

Money well spent in my book. Especially with a BMW . The Yam won't need any. Let's hope that's not Jonahd itDavid. wrote:

Did you manage to fix the puncture yourselves?
