As Shirley & I are booked in for the Sunday night at Tewkesbury, it's something we may consider doing.

Had an email today from GWAA.

"We have yet to confirm our ride with the councils however we are hoping it will go out around Bristol, down to the Mendip lakes and back up to Clifton Rugby Club, Bristol via the Portway Road. The Lakes are an area of outstanding natural beauty and it should be a smooth ride around some of the most beautiful areas of Somerset and Bristol."

Have asked the GWAA to keep me posted, could fill half a day if anyone is looking for something to do before heading home on Sunday.

Yes, David, that GWAA (Great Western Air Ambulance) ride out is being led by our Blood Bike group (Freewheelers) treasurer. About 50 miles total, taking in the Mendip Hills countryside, ie Blagdon & Chew Valley reservoirs, all of which is very scenic. The return up the Portway follows the course of the River Avon, going under the famous Clifton Suspension bridge. I understand they will be crossing the gorge via the Clifton bridge on the ride out. I'm hoping to attend that event, either helping out or on the ride itself! Not forgetting the music festival afterwards, good value and for a very worthwhile charity, the GWAA!
