Late June Meeting of the 'Northern Monkeys'

Post by k9doc »

Carrying over from the other thread, we had such a good time on 3rd June that there was enthusiastic support for another meet in June.
The 24th has been proposed and the Yorkshire Dales has been suggested as a destination. Would interested parties make themselves known and the planning can then commence (in good time).

Right you are. Here is the offering. David and I have once again had our heads together and come up with this little gem for your delectation.

The destination is Dentdale going via Whipperdale Bank, Swaledale, Buttertubs Pass and returning via Wharfedale. Total distance 156 miles with approx. 4 hours riding time + carefully considered stops.

Depending on turnout, and as we are all now Jedi Masters in the art of 'Junction Marking', we may well employ the system again. Anyone joining the ride who is not familiar, will be enlightened on the day by one of our resident experts (should take all of 30 seconds).
As seems to be our custom, participants may choose to leave the ride at a point of their choosing.

We are refining our backup plan should the weather turn against us and this will again be based from Wetherby but heading SE towards the Lincolnshire Wolds. More later on that.

Once again the date is June 24th for a 1030 depart from Morrison's Car Park, Wetherby. Should Saturday prove wet everywhere we have the option of Sunday 25th.

For Michael's benefit, no wildlife was damaged in the making of this plan, and no, my topbox has not fallen off yet!

P.P.S.
If anyone is thinking of joining this ride who hasn't been before it would be useful if you let me have your mobile # by PM. Thanks.

I sense sarcasm from Dave and Chris, If it continues I may have to leave this forum as I find it upsetting  :(

Good route by the way  :)

I reckon I might finally be able to make this one. Regarding the above route - looks good, but I couldn't work out which is the start / meeting point? (Sorry if I'm just being thick and can't see the words in front of my face, etc.)
