Wise words indeed. The errors or misjudgements of youth should not be allowed to cloud a young chap's future.David. wrote: "What goes on tour, stays on tour."

Re: Wales 3 Days
Just back from a short but sweet mini tour. Great weather, great roads, great digs, great bikes and great company. Thanks chaps with a special thanks to David for leading the quicker riders and keeping the ride together (almost, with one noteable exception but we won't mention it) allowing me to guide and generally look after the O.A.P. contingent.
Saga tours has nothing on us and I think everyone enjoyed the experience. Well I know I did along with my two non forum member mates. There may be piccies and possibly even some video if and when michaelc extracts the digit and fixes his Aldi laptop.

The Tesco v's BP fuel comparison is now complete over the same 102.2 miles.David. wrote:We can both start with a full tank of that "super-duper" BP stuff at Birch services.
Will be interesting to see how it fairs compared to Tesco's finest, will have done 100+ miles by then.
Got the same 100+ miles to do on the return journey, on the BP stuff.
Will use the cruise control set at 70 MPH, can't be fairer than that.
Tesco Momentum 99 returned 59.9 MPG (BC = 62.7 MPG).
BP Ultimate 97 returned 64.6 MPG (BC = 65.7 MPG).
BP, (recommended by BMW), wins hands down by a clear 4.7 MPG, that's 7.8% better.

Good weather too, or was it a tad too warm? Now that one is out the way, where and when is the next Northern Monkey tour? 8)

Re: Wales 3 Days
What a fantastic trip, a huge thanks to Chris (k9doc) for planning the group ride routes from the Ponderosa Café to Bangor on day 1, Bangor to Builth Wells on day 2 & Builth Wells to Oswestry on day 3. Certainly some new roads to me & some familiar ones too. The hotels were spot on, clean, very welcoming with good grub, all at sensible prices. Having Michael's company from & to Birch made the difference between me doing the trip or not, only leaving 100 miles each way on my own, cheers mate. Completed 840 miles over the 3 days.

Too hot in the ideal world and certainly needed to keep the fluids intake high along with dioralyte.scunny1 wrote: Good weather too, or was it a tad too warm? Now that one is out the way, where and when is the next Northern Monkey tour? 8)
There is the Dumfries and Galloway trip which would be 2 nights and one in the pipeline based in Balloch (Loch Lomond) which could be 3, 4 or 5 nights if we include a rest day which we old pharts need these days. That doesn't mean everyone would have to have a day off the bikes, cruising the Lake or whatever. A new thread would need to be started to gauge interest.
