Where to go.....
Having completed my first real tour last year, a thirteen day jaunt around the Italian lakes via Switzerland & France. I'm now looking at options for 2017. However I've only got a max of 7 days to play with and was thinking of using four days as travel time and then three days riding around using a single hotel as base. I'm thinking France, but where? All recommendations appreciated.

It's only a group when you want it to be. Otherwise do your own thing UKDucatiman wrote: That looks nice. Not considered a group tour!
Vini, Vidi, Velcro....... I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Organised tours always put me off as I like to do my own thing. But I fully get the social Benifits! Shame this is a couple of weeks ahead of my time off.

Re: Where to go.....
With only 7 days to play with I'very decided on a WWII invasion tour. Taking the overnight ferry to Caen, which docks around 06:45. l'll grab a croissant and coffee at a local cafe before heading towards pegasus bridge as a start point. From there I'm going to travel down the coast to the landing beaches and monuments. Will also stop at Bayeux and then head around the cherburg peninsula and down to St Michael's mount. Will then push inland a bit swinging round back to Caen. Plenty of time and no lone days in the saddle so should be nice and relaxing.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay at Mont Saint-Michel, we stopped here some years ago, before the hotel was renovated in 2014,UKDucatiman wrote:Down to St Michael's mount.

This sounds very good. Can you post pictures and routes when you have done this or links? It is something i'd like to do also.
63 plate Camhead RT SE with NAV 5, 22l topbox, rear panniers with flat lids, RTP cooling fan, LED side lights, headlight protector, grip puppies, RTP engine bars. Stage 1 remap, sport end can, last of the air/oil cooled RT model.

Honfleur is a nice 'base camp' if you're doing the WW2 sites (lovely harbour & restaurants) And riding over the 'Pont de Normandie' is interesting if you have a strange bridge fetish like me? it's free for bike too 8)
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

Weather has been 30 degrees on most days so lots of stops to re-hidrate. Glad I made the call to leave the Rukka kit at home! Great roads and places to visit. Having rest day Dinan today, a most beautiful town.
