Got new Tupperware anyone know what these holes are for?
Got new Tupperware anyone know what these holes are for?
Just had some new Tupperware put on my 2016 r1200rt, was in a accident. Notice the three holes on the windshield trim. This is what the BMW shop put on to replace my windshield trim, also notice the outside hole is off the edge.
Any thoughts ? Cooling? Defect?

Take it back. Can't find that part anywhere. No bolt holes at all,in any I have ever seen . Might be your photo but it looks like it overlaps the headlight as well.

It's the bit below I think he's on about . The one across the top of the headlight.

Now is that picture for the halo lights? Part #20 black trim is what I am referring to...but There should be a black trim piece below it, I think for the halo lights ...thanks for the picture. .
It will be interesting to see what the mothership says about this. My BMW shop are asking them...they mentioned this might be new for 2017, i call BS but thought I would ask first.....

Hmmm, after looking at the picture and the bill of material. The headlight was also replaced. So maybe the new halos have them?

Has the rebuild been done correctly, check visually against a 2016 model in the showroom.Ihbond wrote:The headlight was also replaced.
Are the part numbers & descriptions of the relevant replacement parts available to check against RealOEM.

Looks to me like they have used a second hand part. If you look it up on Real OEM you will see there are no holes in the centre strip above the light. Part No is 46637728786

Whatever they have put on your bike it's not correct. Was it a BMW Dealer who fixed your bike or some repair shop. If it was repaired under insurance its probably time to tell them as well.
Re: Got new Tupperware anyone know what these holes are for?
Fixed by BMW authorized service department. Good idea about insurance company.....

But was it a workshop based in a BMW dealership or somewhere that repaired other makes as well.
I have seen some horrors from (authorised workshops)

Yep, a BMW dealer OK. Better get back there and show them the evidence. If you get no joy contact Bmw USA Customer Services. Dealers love that.
