Hi, when cleaning my bike the other day I noticed when putting the panniers back on that they're not secure. I've triple checked I'm doing it right, the 3 mounting points are all lined up properly. There's a good 15-20mm of play which is quite a concern for me.
Other than that the bike is fantastic, great to be bwck on a boxer after having an f800gs.

Are the upper mounting lugs loose before you mount the case ?. If yes it sounds like the Case Holder securing screws are loose ( 2 x M6 ).

I've had the same problem on my twin-cam RT. There is a set of alternative thickness pads available as a spare part. These have the effect of 'lengthening' the rising bar which engages under the bodywork of the bike, effectively tightening the tension against the bike. The existing 'standard' thickness lugs clip off and a thicker replacement is clipped in place instead.

Hi and thanks for your reply. How much did that part set you back? I am hoping they can chuck them in seeing as I only bought it 2 weeks ago from BMW. Didn't notice at the time. The ETK lists them at £4.15. I can't remember how much I paid - I've moved on to an RTLC now. If I remember correctly, there were 3 pairs of pads of varying thicknesses [size=2px]in the kit[/size].

I had one loose ones too.
In my case, the securing foot wasn't rising enough when you tried to lock them on. I had to take the case apart, to find that the sprung bunt metal slider, had jumped out of its groove. I re-sited that, put it all back and it's been fine ever since.
