Brake pedal adjustment

I want to lower the pedal a bit.  It appears that there is an adjustment screw about midway down the lever, and another at the very rear.  I assume that the midway screw will lower it but will require a re-adjustment of the rear screw, which appears to control the brake light actuation point.  Is this correct?

My understanding is that the brake light is actuated by a micro-switch which contacts with the brake pedal itself.



The Haynes Manual says, "The brake light switches are not adjustable."

On a bike with ABS, the brake light switches are integral with the ABS control unit.

The brake pedal has a stop bolt (adjustment screw) which can be backed out to lower the pedal.





The linkage to the master cylinder must be shortened to maintain proper free play so that the rear brake will not drag.

Thanks, David.  I take it the master cylinder adjustment is the one shown at the very rear?  How does one know when the adjuster is backed off sufficiently to prevent actuation of the rear brake?

Before making any adjustments, put the bike on the centre stand & check both the pedal "free play" & the rear wheel rotates without any binding.
The same should apply after making any adjustments to the brake pedal position.
