Don't think there is a 2018 RT yet. Think we will have to wait until 2020 for a complete new bike. Obviously there will be tweeks before. BMW normally release the GS as a new model before the RT

Gold coloured brake calipers, slightly different body graphics and a colour instrument display. 2018 spec models are available now.

Not sure that is correct, the gold callipers are on the Red sport model the white bikes  and standard colours still have black ones. Not clear about what is a 2017 and what is a 2018, but thought 2018 spec bikes are normally released as a model launch in 2018, or is that 2019 that gets released in 2018.

My understanding is that 2018 models are available to order from August 2017 onwards.

Yes I was reading a US web page so I think I was wrong there, I thought that my new white RT was a 2017 spec model because of the black calipers. However, it's got the RT logo embossed on the pillion seat, which I'm told is only on the 2018 specs?
The 2018 spec bikes were ready for order 1st August (mine was ordered 28th July and delivered 19th October). So I'm not sure.

Looks like the "RT logo embossed on passenger seat", is the give away for a 2018 model.

Style Elegance: Carbon black metallic & Style Sport: new colour Mars red metallic / Dark slate metallic matt with tapes, are the ones with gold brake callipers.

Alpine White is retained from the 2017 model colour range.

When you see the GS/GSA go to VVT and a 1250 CC motor you will know the RT will have it the next year.

It should be something very special then.  With the 17 improvements of new shaft, bearings, shifting forks, and anti shudder, then the TFT screen, the bump to 1250 and VVT the Gen III RT will be something to behold.

Us on the Gen I bikes 2014-2016, and those on the Gen II bikes 2017-2020?, will have a lot of reasons to go for the Gen III bikes.
