Heated Seats not working?

Got any questions about the BMW's R1200RT/R1250RT's onboard audio, Bluetooth or the Electrical system?

Heated Seats not working?

Post by blastfurnace »

I turned on my heated seats for about 90 minutes today and they never seemed to get warm.  I have heard that they won't come on unless it is 59 degrees or lower, but I am not sure that is true.  Anyone else have experience with this.  It seems odd that neither seat would get hot.  I did pull the seats and checkall the connections and they look good.  Any thoughts about where to turn next?  The heated grips work great.

Thanks, David.  I went out this morning when it was 35 and rode around for an hour and it seemed like the seat did come on...so maybe it is hooked into the thermostat?  I don't know, but I guess BMW decided how cold it must be before the heated seats work!

To the best of my knowledge, the operation of the heated seats is not dependant on the ambient temperature.
