How common is faulty ABS on 2005 RT & what mileage ?
I have a 2005 RT with 23000 miles on it,i have had no problems with brakes or servo.Just had the brake fluid changed (i get this done every 2 yrs) is it common that i will get problems with the servo pump as the bike gets older or the miles goes up ?? can i do anything to stop it happening. Cheers Ade

The system has been out of production for over 12 years now. There’s a limit to how long anything lasts. All you can do is watch out for corrosion and regularity change the fluid.

On our '05, the module died in 2014 at 60k miles. At which point I did the ABSectomy.

There are thousands of 2005-2006 RT with no problems and there a folks who write in to forums with their issues. If it does go wrong it is horribly expensive to fix, unless you go to a specialist like Motoscot who can repair them.
My old 2005 reached 10 years and 60,000 miles without a problem.
Changing the brake fluid is not a preventative measure unfortunately.

Our 2007 RTP has just had the ABS repaired - ciost 1k. From another forum I understand that Motorscot no longer repairs the ABS module.
