Instrument cluster adjustment?
Instrument cluster adjustment?
The instrument panel on my 2015 R1200RT appears so stiff that the plastic deforms before I get actual movement - I'm scared to press harder in case I hear the case crack

Yep, mine adjusts it is a bit stiff but it does move :kacsint2:

Mine moves, but it doesn't stay in any position other than the starting one

Mine does shift eventually, but it's hardly graceful. As the manual says - press in the middle. To be honest once it did move I wondered why I bothered and haven't moved it since.
Re: Instrument cluster adjustment?
Be brave, spread the load using both hands, one at the top middle, one at the bottom, press on the edges, not the clear screen, it will move!

That’s why I thought/knew there was no adjustment.[/quot

^^^^^
So that means that springtull, cornishboy, smileymiley and aweight all must have dodgy instrument panels, oh and the bloke who wrote the manual is also wrong. This could lead to compensation claims if BMW says it can move and gullible owners believe the manual, then bust their instrument panels trying.

Re: Instrument cluster adjustment?
Sorry guys - only just seen this thread but will throw my two-penneth worth in:
The instrument cluster / binnacle does adjust and mine also stays in place.
the method to adjust it is to put upwards pressure on the "handle" section below the cluster (squeeze this upwards as you tilt the cluster up and down) - not the best design in the world and it does feel quite fragile, but once in the correct position, release the plastic section below it which locks it in position.
Hope this helps. :-\
