I started out being interested in this thread, got confused when I couldn't figure out which comment referred to which bike and completely lost interest when I couldn't understand the terminology used in some of the posts.


Is there a reason why people use shorthand that only the chosen few will understand ?  Is there a charge per word which keeps posts so short ?

I'm OK with BMW, MZ etc - I've owned a few of both, also seen a few Zundapps.
I guess I would have liked to see a picture of each bike with the details of make / model / year in the same post before another bike was introduced.  My brain isn't as sharp as it was 55 years ago when I first started riding !
Believe it or not, the sun is beaming down on my part of Scotland this weekend - glorious !

Actually, you are right! It IS a two stroke, 1955 two cylinder bike.
They were the big old Zundapp's  and BMW,'s mini me's  :alas:

From my phone that jug looked like a quirky 4 stroke or it’s time to upgrade my readers! I remember seeing tons of MZ 250s when I lived in Paris in the mid 70s.

MZ's were one of the better bikes built in the eastern block.
125,175 and 250 cc. were abundant, the 350 cc  was a rare
"beast" That is why i posted it here . :kacsint2:
