Today I got my Harley Davidson out of the garage and gave it a wash before taking it for a spin to dry it off 8) It reminded me just how smooth that Boxer engine is

Re: What did you do today?
Washed the RT because it was looking a bit grubby after the last couple of ride outs I also gave the Centre Stand a good rub down with some emery cloth and a wire brush before giving 3 coats of Hammerite

Re: What did you do today?
I took my bike into the local BMW dealer for service in cold (2 degrees C) and wet. Fortunately a short ride.
They gave me their 2018 S1000XR demo bike for two days, pointing out that it had been dropped and had some cosmetic damage (with just over 200 miles on the clock). Everything was working so I rode off, then tried to set the mirrors (yes, I know that's the wrong way round :alas: ). This is where I discovered that the left mirror was loose on it's stalk.
The S1000XR - it's a Sport SE with HP style package) is a very enjoyable bike to ride, lighter and more powerful than the RT with easy handling and excellent brakes. The clutch is cable operated and slightly heavier than that on the RT, but the GearShiftAssist Pro is a joy, smoother up and down than on the RT.
When I reached home, five minutes with a 14mm spanner fixed the spinning mirror and I cleaned up the chain which looked like it hadn't seen oil ever. I don't hate chains, but I hate rust !
That's what I did yesterday, today I'm hoping to put some miles on the S1000XR before collecting the RT.

Going to Chester Motorrad to collect my replacement RT. Fully loaded, as the previous one was, in Mars Red.
It's keyless so no need to worry about keys, just keep the fob safe in an inside pocket.
Going to clock up a few miles, Chester, Mold, Ruthin, Ponderosa, Llangollen, Porthmadog, Dollgellau, Bala and home over the Berwyns.
So if you see a Red RT being ridden "steadily" just wave.
Have a good day

Re: What did you do today?
Not today but yesterday. Home in Birmingham to the Elan Valley via Kidderminster, tenbury Wells, Prestiegne, and Rhayader. A brew whilst watching millions of gallons of water overflowing the dam above the visitors centre then up the A470 to Llangurig, lunch at the Riverside cafe, right beside the river Severn. Next on to Caersws and a left to Dolgellau. Right at the roundabout took me to Bala on the A494 and on to the A5 to Corwen, Llangollen, and home via Shrewsbury, Bridgenorth and Stourbridge. A thoroughly enjoyable day of just under 300 dry and sunny miles .
