Front wheelings R1200RT LC
I have a 2014 R1200RT LC with 28,000 miles. I am changing my front tire again and wonder should I change front bearings and seals. I have had HD's in the past and they eat front wheel bearings (Cheap narrow ones). Any feedback and is there an alternative bearing and seal or go BMW$$$$

Bearings & seals have size codes on them, once removed, take them to a bearing supplier & get them matched up.yellowjacket wrote:Any feedback and is there an alternative bearing and seal or go BMW$$$$
The video explains what to look for, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEFkdiGNmCg
An example, this bearing is a 3204 2RS (from a K1200LT).
RealOEM gives the bearing & seal sizes, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpar ... Id=36_2026
The bearing on the 2014 RT is a 6204 2RS like the thin one in the video.

unless you have some compelling reason to work on your bike, do not make extra work for yourself. That is not called for in preventive maintenance. It is not a harley.
