1200RT Headlight unit dipped beam issue with American import

Post by hestbank frank »

Hi Everyone

1200 RT imported to UK from America into UK in 2010
Passed 8 MOT's to date however latest MOT at a different MOT centre failed the bike due to inability to get the dipped beam bright spot into the LHS of the vertical line using available adjustment
It can be seen that both the dipped beam bulbs have a metal deflector fitted to prevent light going to the left
UK headlights do not have this deflector
Sure this is the problem
Thought i would be able to remove bulb and then remove this deflector but it does not seem to want to move[attachimg=1]

Can anybody help with this

Drive on the right in USA so dip wrong way, sleeves are an attempt to stop beam dazzling on left hand drive roads. Only proper way to do job is put left hand drive unit on bike.
