Screen wind deflectors.

Post by milleplod »

My '06 RT is in the garage, stripped down after I've fitted new suspension and a new engine front cover. I'm now fettling lots of otherwise hidden bits! Where the screen meets the mirror pods, there's what BMW call 'wind deflectors', one on each side - clear plastic, they're filthy and un-cleanable in-situ! Has anyone ever removed them, and if so, how? They look as if they should simply unclip, although RealOEM shows a screw that may, or may not, be holding them in place. I don't want to break anything!

Although I haven't removed the wind deflectors (9),  looking at the photos in the Haynes manual, they appear to be attached with the screw (10) to the trim panel upper (1).

Many thanks for that link David, very helpful - I can now see just where they're secured.  :)
