I have a 2009 R1200RT and have a problem with my left knee - can't keep it bent for long periods of time anymore. Would like to install highway/freeway pegs to use on longer trips. But don't want to have to install crash bars to install them onto. Anybody out there have a solution?
Did a Google search and found Ilium works highway pegs that look like they might work - if they will actually fit my bike. Anybody have any experience with them?
Thanks, DancingDon in AZ
highway pegs
Re: highway pegs
+1 for IliumWorks!!!
I recently installed them on my 06 RT, and absolutely LOVE them. I special ordered them powder coated in black, which looks great & almost hidden under the dark panels around the cylinder heads on my silver/grey RT.
As an added bonus, their highway pegs system does provide tip-over protection & are a great place to mount accessory lights.

Re: highway pegs
This thread suggests that the same pegs fit all 2005-2009 R1200 Hexheads, viewtopic.php?t=9.msg41572#msg41572
Confirmed by Ilium Works listing too, http://www.iliumworks.com/BMW_Motorcycl ... 100&pID=44
