I'm having a hard time to find touch up paint for my bike. (Stone chip repair)
2017 R1200RT LC
Color: Carbon Black Metallic
BMW Paint code: N1K
BMW Canada told me to talk to the parts dept at the dealer.
Not one dealer in Montreal carries paint or knows where to buy it.
I found some kits on ebay that ship from Germany, but would like to buy from North American company.
Suggestions anyone?
Once the repair is done, it will be a paint protection film for sure.
No problem finding that.

Where to buy touch up paint
Re: Where to buy touch up paint
I would suggest searching your local area for an automotive paint store an buy some.
If you have the code it should be easy.

Re: Where to buy touch up paint
Colorite makes touch up paint, should be available online, if your planning on covering with film afterwards, surface should be smooth

Not sure if it's the same in North America, the local body repair shop mixes the paint to match the colour code for the car and not an off the shelf one. Haven't checked if they can do a bike colour but can't see a problem just the batch size.
We also have mobile paint repair outfits who seem to be able to do pretty well anything from stone chips to panels. They must be good as a friend who works for Bentley use them for any minor scratches and chips on the cars.
Need to do the same on mine as the front mudguard is a bit scuffed from parking too close to walls and rails.

The problem I found was, BMW use water based paint and a lot of paint shops and touch up people, don't like those paints.

Re: Where to buy touch up paint
I've used these for paint a couple of times, Both times they were a very good match to colour and consistency in the amount of metallic fleck in the paint.

The paint used on most BMW motorcycles is exactly the same as that used on cars. This includes Carbon Black Metallic.
Your local BMW car dealership carries touch up pens which are a 100% match for the genuine paint: just go there and ask for a touch up pen for color #416: they should have it in store (very popular car color) and have it on order in a few days.
