I had that same "Yikes!" so I made my own...
Total cost = less than $25 CAD for a 3' chunk of flat aluminum bar, a tripod gopro mount, and hardware (including some hard rubber washers for vibration damping). This doesn't factor in my 'sweat equity' of course, but it was a fun little winter project, so it's all good!
Does it look as nice as the CamRack mount - no
Do I care - not at all!
Looks pretty professional to me. Where is it designed to mount on the bike?

It mounts on the windshield brackets using the 2 bottom torx screws (using longer screws). It takes literally 2 minutes to pop it on or off, and not much longer to set up the camera.
I don't have a photo of it on the bike (yet), but I've attached a stock photo of the CamRack system that mine 'emulates'...

I went for one of these https://www.nippynormans.com/touring-es ... lc-r1250rt
This is a small sample of the what I captured today. Not perfect, there is a certain amount of bouncing up and down which may be because I was struggling to get the bolt tight enough but OK for a first attempt. I'll take tools next time to make sure it is tight. Will also try the underneath position to see if that helps.

Please note that I will delete the file in a couple of weeks as it takes too much of my storage

That looks great! There’s just no eliminating all the bouncing & vibrations because the bike does a lot of bouncing & vibrating... The only downside of mine, like has previously been mentioned, is that I can’t adjust my windscreen height much once I’ve got the GoPro set up in the mount. Not a huge deal really, but a small factor.
