After being stood for 5 months, pushed the start button today. The bike fired up instantly at the first attempt. So much for needing a new battery. Will be interesting to see how the battery performs under normal stop/start conditions.
That's a nice surprise then! I've given up trying to fathom batteries and their many foibles.
Tayna normally charge £7.97 for delivery, it's an extra £2.00 for a Saturday. If for some reason it doesn't arrive tomorrow (Saturday) and it turns up on Monday, they'll refund the £2.00.
I could have got a BS battery for £62.16 with free P&P Mon. to Fri., but they wanted £21.05 for next day on a Saturday.
MDS for the Yuasa battery could only offer Monday at the earliest.
Had nothing to loose ordering the Exide (OEM) from Tayna.
The old BMW OEM (Exide) battery was manufactured in week 34, 2013 and fitted to the bike in April 2014, it was already 8 months old, nice one BMW.
The sticker on the battery recommended re-charging week 2, 2014 after 20 weeks or 5 months. Plus, had a place for the dealer to stamp the battery as having been re-charged prior to fitting too. There was no evidence of this.
The new Exide battery has week 3, 2019 on it, therefore only 14 weeks old and came fully charged ready for use.

The only time i ever bought a battery for my motorcycle it was a Shorai gel , light small but excellant value and very reliable would recommend them to anyone !!!!
Bought a new battery for my 1200RT from Motorworks. Outstanding service ! Ordered Friday afternoon, delivered Saturday morning and with really robust packaging so that the battery would not be damaged. I chose the Motobatt battery, which fitted perfectly and came fully charged.
So when is this “old enough to know better” supposed to kick in?
I ordered a battery a couple of weeks back from Tayna Batteries when my RT was struggling turning over at 3 Degrees (when will I see you again) C. I typed in 'CTM 19L-BS' which was on the side/front of my existing battery and bought an Exide replacement, It came next day and cost about £70 ish, it fitted perfectly and turns over much better than the old one. Jobs a good un.
