Noticed that the right hand side fork seal on my 2005 RT is leaking fluid out from the seal, its running down the fork leg. I've bought a full kit of seals & dust covers.
Anyone know what grade of oil and how much is needed per leg ? Haynes manual says 620ml but I've read elsewhere is 450ml per leg ??
Thanks

Re: Fork seal
Changed both fork legs, by the service and repair manual goes 0,45 l of hydraulic fluid SAE 10 per fork leg.
Re: Fork seal
Job done successfully :-)
word of caution to others, the M8 torx bolts holding the fork lower legs to the bridge at the bottom of the front shock are loctited in.. I used the correct heavy duty T40 1/2" drive socket, and all four of them rounded out, they were that tight.
Ended up hammering a 6mm hex allen key into each one and slowly turning them out after first heating through with hot air gun.
