Glare from plastic instrument panel

Post by Rwslater »

Has anyone been able to do something about the glare you get from the plastic panel covering the speedometer and the tach with the sun is just right (wrong)?  Tilting it does nothing  (2015 R1200RT)

It's a bit of a problem, I find tilting it down does improve a bit,  (it's all to do with angles, ) I wear a yellow reflective vest and when the sun is on the front of that you can see the speedo/rev counter but the LCD panel is lost in the yellow glare, my Honda Crosstourer's panel points a lot more up towards the sky and amazingly that's always perfectly legible.

I would be nice if the plastic was made of a different type of plastic, the no reflection / glare type

The reflection that I have most trouble with is off the back of the silver yoke.  Might do a bodge with tape to see how good that is before looking for something more permanent.
