Solution to fork lock problem.

Post by jackronner »

Just in case other have had the same problem and think the lock needs seeing to (it don't).  As opposed to my 2005 RT,  when I wanted to lock the forks and pulled the bars leftward to the stop, the key would sometimes not release.  Experimenting show that the answer was to pull the bars to the hard stop and then back off about an inch or so before turning the key to the lock position. It comes out every time.

It would be good to specify what bike you are talking about.

Per my suggestion to the moderator, the members' model and year are now shown under their names in the post.  My new one is a 2009 RT.
