Until recently, I've previously been using Windows 7 to successfully update both my device (Zumo 660) & PC.

I believe that the version of GE to be installed can be selected for older versions of Windows. Therefore, Windows 10 should not be necessary to update maps using GE.

I've found Garmin support to be very helpful, they can be contacted on free phone, 0808 238 0000.

For what it's worth I have just updated my Nav6 on an old version of Windows 7. Garmin Express version 6.16.10

The latest version of Garmin Express is 6.18.0.0, you could always try to uninstall, then reinstall GE on your PC.
