Shopping - I can fit over £120 worth of shopping in my big box, panniers and tank bag. It's quite fun deciding which supermarket to shop in, and they're all about the same distance 8-12 miles from my home. There is no decent supermarket in the town in which I live and my wife needs a specific diet, so only the bigger supermarket cater for her requirements. It does mean that I have been able to use the bike constantly, three times a week throughout this stupid situation. The car has sat in the driveway and gone precisely nowhere, unless its wet, of course.

Have been tempted to look into being a takeaway delivery driver in the evenings just so I can get out on the bike.
Massive surge in takeaway ordering has created lots more opportunities in this area.

If you do make sure you let your insurance company know as otherwise you are almost certainly riding outside of your policy conditions so therefore uninsured which is going to be a major problem if you have an accident or get stopped for any reason

Must do as long as you factor  a beach or park into the route.

Got an email from a local M/C group making what may be a very valid point.

"In particular I think you should read para 1.1, re sport with one other person while staying 2m apart = one riding buddy.
This would be a good way of riding as a buddy gives us extra security in case of a problem".

As Boris says "common sense".  I take that to read be sensible and don't ride like a clown.  The distancing thing should be easy and a bit of care at the pump should make things safe.  I did try to volunteer with the local bloodbikes but they don't need any more at the moment and in any case can't really train people.  To be accepted I'll also need to renew my IAM (a good thing) but they are not training either.  Patience is a virtue.... so I'll do some socially distanced practice in the meantime.
