To help decide whether or not an extended warranty is worth having, how about a list of claims/warranty work done on your bike and when.
Any work done under the original 2 or 3 year manufacturers warranty should be included to build up a true picture of problems.
Warranty Claims

Re: Warranty Claims
2012 Camhead ~ Under goodwill, outside of the original 2 year manufacturers warranty, the front engine (timing) cover was replaced due to corrosion. This may have been due to not having a fender extender fitted from new. The bike was under a 1 year used bike warranty at the time.
During year 3, under the used bike warranty, the RHS handlebar switch failed and was replaced in Germany, (not forgetting the hotel bill). The LHS switch being replaced when back in the UK. Switchgear was a known problem and generally changed under a technical campaign.
Since then, I've had an extended warranty for 7 months each year. In 2018, both front brake calipers were changed. I won't go in to the reasons why, but it demonstrated the value of a warranty when the work cost nearly £700 less my £100 excess.
Most recently, the exhaust flap became partially seized. The exhaust system is not covered under an extended warranty.

Re: Warranty Claims
This may be relevant to those who have older bikes. An extended warranty can be purchased up to 80,000 miles at commencement of cover, irrespective of age.
My 2007 Hexhead partially seized on both cylinders, I'm glad I didn't have to pay that bill. The front discs were also changed.
This was under the original 2 year warranty.

Re: Warranty Claims
2014 LC, right hand side switch gear replaced when the starter switch began to feel ‘crunchy’ when pressed. No other issues.
