After doing some research "Google It", it may not be recommended to ride the bike without the steering damper fitted.

Not wishing to be morbid, but it looks like steering dampers may have first been fitted to GS Wetheads following an unfortunate fatal accident.

I've removed & edited some of my posts within this thread to reflect this new evidence.

I just wanted to learn & understand possibly why steering dampers have been fitted to RT's and share the info.

Steering damper works not sure working fully but definitely more damping faster wiggle. Not got problem removing just didn't want to take wheel calipers and mudguard off for access to one bolt. Not worried about riding without the gs was designed without only put on because of incident. Some recon rides better without.
