Ahh,
so that's it then. Does seem a strange thing to say as I would have thought that every bike (except the original model) is an Up Dated version or am I missing something here ?.

The 'MU' designation usually refers to the change from the hexhead to the twin cam engine, along with some minor styling changes. I suppose it (MU designation) could equally be applied to describe the change from the original LC to the shiftcam, but doesn't seem to have been adopted in the same way.

As above, on the Registration Certificate for my 2012 Camhead, "MU" is included in the Model description.

I thought the shift cam was introduced on the 1250 engine, in which case the change is implicit in the capacity

Yep, fair point :)  regarding the capacity change. Still seems a parallel situation to me though - engine changes and minor panel revisions, but the rest of the bike is the same. Apart from the front calipers! :)
