Power loss at 3500rpm
2012rt with 118000miles on the clock. I’ve got an issue that has slowly developed from 3500-4000rpm the bike just Boggs down, no power, but as soon as we hit 4K its right back how it should be. Valves are all within spec plugs are new and I’ve ran fuel injector cleaner all with no change in how it runs. Like I said everywhere else in the rpm range it runs like a monster but from 35k-4K it falls flat on its face. So to the powers that by what are you thoughts?

Check your air filter also !
But BMW are running lean and as most at about this RPM. Could also be low fuel pressure. Check your fuel filter.

Air filter is new. What is a way to test the fuel filter? Or just get a new one?

This type of question is common on all forums and whilst they induce several suggestions they rarely result in a pinpoint solution. The only real answer is a diagnostic scan by an appropriate device. Hope you get it resolved.

If you have Facebook? Join the "BMW R1200RT/R 1250RT Owners Group" page, there's a very knowledgeable chap called Steve Campbell who knows the twin cam RT inside and out, he'll point you in the right direction.
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)
