Lincolnshire Wolds
Weather permitting, Markus & I are contemplating having a weekend away exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds next weekend (the August Bank Holiday weekend).
The itinerary would be to stay two nights (Sat 29th/Sun 30th) at a Premier Inn near Lincoln and:
Sunday 30th Aug: Scenic loop around the Wolds down to Skegness and back (200 miles).
Markus & I have booked the fully flexible rate and propose to cancel the day before, if we don’t like the look of the weather.
We will limit numbers to six people to be fully Covid compliant so it’s first-come-first-served if you’d like to join us.
So far, we have now got Markus & I plus one other, three confirmed bookings at the fully flexible rate.
The weekend event is also being advertised to members of the local IAM group.
So if you’re interested please let me know and I will send you the route & hotel details.

Re: Lincolnshire Wolds
I’d love to join you as the roads are great there and often pop up from Suffolk to play Dohh! practice. However I’m tied up elsewhere, so not this time.
Be sure to ride Market Rasen - Wragby - Horncastle; and B1225 from N of Horncastle to Caistor...have fun!

Re: Lincolnshire Wolds
Thank you for your reply. Although you are not able to attend, it's nice to know you would if you could.
The Sunday circular ride has been taken out of the Bikers' Britain "The Tours" guide and is based on Tour (16) Skegness loop. It's been adapted to start/finish at Lincoln and includes most of your recommended roads to ride. Most folks seem to think that the Lincolnshire Wolds are dull & flat. Good to have a bit of local knowledge/input to the contrary.
At the moment, the weather forecast for the BH weekend is looking reasonable.

Re: Lincolnshire Wolds
BH weekend is always a difficult one, chose it thinking folks wouldn't need time off work.
The downside is that it usually clashes with other events, never mind.

Beware local Police presence will be high around Market Rasen, Willingham Woods and Caistor area. They (Lincolnshire Police) are saying in local press, speed cameras and even Police drones will be on the lookout for offenders.

Re: Lincolnshire Wolds
At the moment, it's looking likely that the Three Musketeers will be heading to Lincoln at the weekend.
The circular ride out on Sunday 30th will start at 09:30 from the hotel. If any locals would like to join us for the day, you would be most welcome. Details of the meeting place & route can be provided to anyone who is interested. In the unlikely event that more than six turn out, as at Peterborough, two groups riding in the opposite directions would be necessary to best comply with the Covid-19 guidelines.
Because we have booked the hotel "flex" rate, a decision can be left until Friday evening or even Saturday morning at the latest.
