I downlaoaded 7.2 from website and once installed went to help and about and checked for updates.

Thank you, I don't think there is anything spoiling if I leave 7.1.2.0 installed for the time being.
I have a Garmin Zumo 660 which only gets map updates twice a year or so, usually in the Autumn & Spring.
