Just checked GE, there is a map update for my Zumo 660, 2021.20 now available.
Attempted the usual process of installing the update to both PC & Device. I normally have "Full Coverage of Europe" maps installed on a 32GB SD card. Was prompted by GE saying there wasn't sufficient space to install the full map update and I'd have to select a region. Spoke to Garmin who recommended formatting the SD card and trying again, this didn't work. Garmin then suggested selecting a region so I chose UK & Ireland, download now in process. Garmin next said, go back and try installing "Full Europe", if this doesn't work, call them back.
I've never previously been asked to select a region. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, how did you overcome it, thank you.

Thanks Gary, that is useful to know. When I selected UK & Ireland, to update both device & PC, Full Europe seems to be on the PC. I have had a go using MapInstall to manually transfer a couple of the Europe map areas from BaseCamp on the PC to the device sd card. It was successful and is one way around the current problem of what appears to be Garmin Express not recognising the sd card within the device.
Meanwhile, I'm still in correspondence with Garmin in the hope that they can come up with a solution to the issue.

Garmin have come back with, "there are device limitations due to the age of the unit, we do not future proof devices and technology becomes outdated".
Whilst I've got map version 2021.20 NT (Full Europe) on my PC via Basecamp, decided to have a go using MapInstall to transfer most of the Europe maps to the sd card within the device, seems to be downloading ok at the moment. Since Garmin have screwed up the software, this is now the only option available to myself.
New 2022.10 maps downloaded onto Zumo 660 without issue. However, cannot get them onto my laptop despite never having any issues before. It goes through the entire downloading and updating process but I get an error message at the very end and the maps and Basecamp are not loaded. Tried uninstalling and installing all of the software, GE, Basecamp and the maps several times but no joy. If I load Basecamp separately to the GE process, I can see the maps but they are locked despite having lifetime updates.
Swapped a few emails with Garmin but no success, their website support says to contact Garmin for unlock codes but they say that they do not give unlock codes? Waiting for them to come back to me.

Hi Steve, are you prompted by GE to select a region to load on to the device internal memory only or do you still have the full EU coverage on the SD card.
Hi David
Full EU still on SD card.Map Product Manager shows them as locked with a button to unlock online, which when selected takes you to the Garmin site. However that fuction doesn't exist now according to Garmin??

2022.10 was the one I was trying to install.
However, decided to have one more go. Re-installed maps to the 660 (they were ok anyway),then tried to install maps to my laptop exactly as I did probably 15 other times. Eureka!!! for some unknown reason the 2022.10 maps installed on the laptop without any problems ??? ??? Not had this before in the 10+ years I've used Garmin and my old faithful 660.
I was desperate to get them on the laptop as I take it away with me when leading tours....just in case.
Thanks for your suggestions David.
PSGlad the old Zumo 660 is still working as I still don't trust the TFT/Connected App on the new bike.
