Thanks Casbar, that's reassuring to hear that it's 'normal'. Just another BMW 'they all do that' feature then!

Many thanks to everyone for their comments , its good to have a range of opinions , i have to agree with one comment fully i never purchase a bike for speed , its more to do with handling , comfort , and sensible extra,s , well its looks like i,ll stay with the old dear a few more miles , will get her out again today !!!!.
