I just got an OEM tank bag.I am looking at the latch and thinking about how to make it lockable. Mainly to prevent someone lifting the latch and walking away with it. It looks like I could drill some properly placed holes to slip a small padlock through and that would stop the latch from being lifted.
Has anyone done this? Have you come up wit a better way?
Of course I understand that someone could just cut it open in the blink of an eye. That is a different level of malevolence. This is intended to be just the technical question, and not a social commentary.

I use a small cable lock like this one between the tank bag carry handle and around top yoke.
Using a small 20mm suitcase luggage padlock to secure the zipped opening.
