Top Case Latch not latching properly....case fell off....TWICE!

Hello.... My 2014 R1200 RT came with the factory Large top case and worked fine for 1000s of miles....However suddenly one day it simply popped off on a country back road....After repainting it and carefully examining the locking mechanism to its base and pulling on it several times to be sure it was properly engaged....it seemed right as rain. However it popped off again mid ride on a typical crappy California road.... has this happened to anyone else out there in R1200 land?

The answer is YES - albeit a 1600 which uses the same case.
