Roadside repairs for newer bikes?

I've been revising tool kits recently and was thinking to myself that I carry all these tools - almost certainly too many - and have just about never used them.


I'm considering eliminating just about everything except flat fixing solutions (including a small hammer for dented rims - a personal experience issue!),a credit card & cel phone.


For bikes more recent than say 2015, what roadside repairs have been needed, other than fixing flats?

Puncture repair kit, plus a Leatherman multi tool and my credit card and BMW rescue   Only failure in over 30k on LC RTs. last week when my keyless cap wouldn't open on my 1250. Only tool required was the torx screwdriver under the seat.

Mobile and RAC card does it for me.

I carry a 'Stop n Go' plug kit and an Airman compressor. A few assorted cable ties, electrical tape, spare bulbs and a few spare fuses. Spare key fob battery. Spare valve cores. Tools to remove either wheel, if a puncture cannot be repaired at the roadside and wheel removal for tyre replacement is necessary. LED torch. Leatherman multitool for me too!
I have warranty info and the bike manual downloaded onto my phone and the BMW dealer addresses are in the Nav 6.

Depending on the nature of the problem, I think it's often more a case of seeking assistance or transport to a dealer than a roadside fix.

So I never have to worry about getting to a fuel station/home when I have run the bike over 300 miles since the last fill-up. No one like filling up more than necessary.

Why not?  -  After all, I have more than enough room in the pannier for; a small tool kit, tyre repair kit, air pump, zip ties, bungees/ratchet straps and 3l fuel can. Seems silly not to!
