i have legal expenses cover with Carole Nash (a third party cover only). after being knocked off my bike in 2019 (driver admitted fault),they pursued the other driver and secured me damages for injury. for the tiny amount of money it cost, i would get it
That is not the point, the discussion is about whether you can use a specialist rather than the bods appointed by the Insurance company, who as someone else has pointed out are normally not top draw and just want to get it sorted. Even more problems if you happen to be dealing with someone who is insured by the same company as you. In the case of a non fault or personal injury claim you are much better off sorting out your own legal representative. Going back to my wifes claim, she is NHS and when the insurance appointed team made her an appointment to assess her back injuries, the doctor was a gynaecologist not much use for backs. She was able to find out his speciality and refuse the appointment and get one with a specialist, not on the insurance companies payroll. If you read up on this subject, most say legal cover by a insurance company is a bad decision. But each to their own of course I used to always buy it until I researched and realised what was actually happening.
