removing radio/cd player & speakers from 2007 model - how???

i have a 2007 RT with the radio, speakers and cd player. i want to remove all this


has anyone done this? how easy is this? and what do i need to replace the part where the buttons are on the left? ie this bit (see pic)


and what do i put in place of where the CD used to be?


any help appreciated...

If the buttons can be removed, then I think a blanking plate #4 covers the holes.

mm.. yes. interesting.


i think it might be just too much hassle to dismantle it all!

With the trim panel removed, the job must be part complete already.

With the CD unit out of the way, the glovebox makes an excellent storage space.

that's just a photo of the panel i grabbed from the internet. i haven't dismantled anything yet
