GPS not hooking up to speakers

Post by Remey »

New bike to me 2011 RT. Garmin Navigator IV won’t come through bike speakers. Disabled Bluetooth on the GPS and checked settings. When I take unit out of cradle it works fine thru it’s own speaker. Pretty sure it was dealer installed and plugged into bike properly.

Any ideas.

Hi,

When I had a 2006 RT the audio system wasn't Bluetooth.  I am sure your bike will be the same, its the later lc models that are. At the time I used a wired autocom, that allowed me to listen to the audio and sat nav in helmet speakers. Alternatively a Bluetooth headset would connect to the sat nav,  but not the bike audio.

From what I’ve read and can see, there is a wire from the cradle to a plug between the upper fork area that is supposed to connect to audio system.

The cable with two wires is for Audio use.
