2015 r1200rt exhaust pop.

Post by Ducati2 »

I know I may get plenty of members to tell me to just go back to stock can, but here goes..
2015 r1200rt, installed a GPR (nice little Italian item) slip-on can so I could actually hear my bike.  It has both the front and rear baffles still installed, so it really is a nice mellow tone that I like. Problem is upon shifting, it nearly always pops.  I can get it to not do this if I completely close the throttle for shifts, but what fun is that?  Question- anyone experienced this and what is the fix?

I have the stock can on mine and can hear the pops just a little when giving it some

I have always liked the pops and bangs from exhausts! so for me it would be something to leave alone!

Anyway what causes it is unburnt fuel entering the exhaust and igniting in there
