Hi I did a search for which type of battery tender to get for 2006rt. Didn’t find out which one people have most success with.

+1 for the optimate, although I've also got two Oxford oximisers at twenty odd quid each which work perfectly well.
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

If anyone is after an Oxford Oximiser, they are currently doing a 900 (888) Anniversary edition for less than 30 GBP.

I’m using 0.75mA Battery Tender Jr.’s on all my bikes, connected directly to the battery, and they work fine. About $22 each in the U.S.

A battery which is maintained fully charged with a trickle charger is most unlikely to sulfate. If this is the case, why pay around twice as much for a fancy battery charger with de-sulfation modes which shouldn't be necessary. With the latter, the recovery modes (high voltage) are not active unless the battery is removed from the bike to protect the electronics.
