Re: Rear side panel removal
Found this close up photo, the panel screws identified are for the panel X.
The following parts diagrams may give some clues.
Looks like #2 left grab handle needs to be removed for starters.
After that, it may just be a case of removing panels screws #5.
Panels off the bike.

Re: Rear side panel removal
This photo shows the silver cover (#4) on the rear carrier which may have to be removed to access the rear grab handle screws (#7).
After that, you can see the front grab handle screw (#8) and the rear side panel screw (#5).
Although the bike in question is an R1250RT, has anyone got a Haynes manual for a 2014-16 R1200RT to confirm the above is correct or not, should be pretty much the same.

Thank you so very much David, well done, looks a pig of a job 'eh, I scratched mine badly in an argument with a stone pillar, a respray or a new panel @ £184 needed.

Re: Rear side panel removal
Hi Mondeoman
It may look a pig of a job but in reality it's quite straight forward and will take about 30 mins.
Just remember to look at the screw's near the fuel tank on removal, as some will have longer shoulders than others due to going through more than 1 plastic.
