A headline grabbing video, but basically the oil from a first service is analysed to give an indication of engine build quality.

This has been around a while. It is not about quality of components or the quality of the product, it is about cleanness on the assembly line.

Whatever, I still wouldn’t want that amount of debris rumbling around in the engine.

One thing is clear: avoid Chinese products, for many more reasons than sheetie manufacturing
If it takes you all day to do something you used to do all day, you are getting old.

The other thing that it says to "me" is to do the first oil change as early as possible, regardless of manufacturer recommendations. I know many will argue with this so to each his own.

Whichever is most reliable... I know a guy who has a kawasaki zzr1400 and for 10 years never had a problem once.. roll of the dice .. friend of mine had an RT1200 2018 model.. had nothing but problems with it.. bet their are guys on here with older models and new ones like me, no problems are all.. I had a 2019 RT , no problems art all , I had more problems after it had a service at BMW ... but soon sorted afterwards. .
What is crap to one fella here, is good to someone else and vice versa.
I do know one thing that you should not listen to THE DEALER !!! Tell you anything to make the deal...
Ask people who ride them, and then test ride yourself... then roll the dice and good luck
