Triumph front wheel on BMW

Post by motorradical »

My 1st post newbie here-  I just bought a 2008 R1200RT police that needs new tires immediately. The font wheel is dented but still holds air.

I also have a lot of spare parts from a 2003 Triumph 955i Daytona including a front wheel. Both wheels are 17x3.5 inch with dual 320mm rotors.
Will the Triumph wheel work on the BMW or is there something that's incompatible?
Thanks for any help

Could it be repaired, Repairing damaged wheels | MCN (motorcyclenews.com)

"A good rule of thumb for working out whether a wheel can be repaired is if the tyre is still inflated on the wheel."

...not to mention the fittings for ABS ring.

As David says, if the wheel is really bad, get it straightened or purchase off a breaker such as Motorworks. Do put the new tyres on before you have a whoopsie!

Also, you will need axle spacers made up. Hate to think your insurance would say if you had a claim.
