Oil - What does the book say please?

Post by Tog »

Hello. I have searched but not got definitive answer. I also will say my RTP did not come with a manual.

So to stop any arguments etc. I want to change my engine oil and wondered what the manual says.  Just the official line please. Not a view from oil technicians 😁

Twin Cam 2014 ( last of TC’s).

Obviously I’m conscious about feedback about oil threads. So just looking for BMW company line on this if possible. Thanks

My ‘12 R1200R has the same engine and the book says “SAE 15W-50, API SJ / JASO MA2”

Found this at OnBuy.com, Castrol Power 1 Engine Oil 15W-50 4T, 4L, Castrol Power 1 Engine Oil 15W-50 4T, 4L on OnBuy

I bought some oil from OnBuy.com, next day delivery, the API is SN (better than SJ).
