I'm wanting to change the factory seat on my 2021 RT for a better one. I had a Sargent seat on my previous 1250GSA and it was better than stock (that wouldn't be hard) but not perfect. My choices for the RT are between the Wunderlich, Sargent and Touratech seats, all with heat.
I like the look of the Wunderlich but wondered if any of you guys had experience with any of the options mentioned. I don't want a massive RDL style seat by the way!

Got the Touratech on my 1200 and it's by far the most comfortable seat I've ever had,it's like riding on air.

Re: New seat for 2021 RT
I've had Touratech Kahedo seats on my previous hexhead and twincam RTs. They were very good and a vast improvement over the stock seats.
Currently, I'm happy with the factory 'high' seat on my LC, but if I was changing, I'd buy Touratechs again without hesitation.

I have the Sargeant low with heat on my 21 RT and it is very hard. I'll probably add an airhawk cushion for the long hauls. I did 5 days on the bike this past season, and the last pull of 450 miles was pretty brutal.
Re: New seat for 2021 RT
Think seats discussions are a bit like which tyres. There are lots of factors that make a seat comfortable, but mostly the human one. I ride about 10k a year and have had standard seats from my first RT LC in 2014. My bladder always necessitated stopping before the seat became really uncomfortable. But on my 1250 I found the seat quite uncomfortable and it only started to bed in around the 6k miles point. Then I bought a Sargent seat second hand to try. And I can honestly say, it is very comfortable, hasn't helped my bladder stops, but it is good. But it was a used purchase, so probably broken in by the previous owner, but not for 1000s of miles. It would make me buy another if I needed one.

Fair point. And I will say the Sargeant seat is still far more comfortable than the stock seat, it is just very firm. I wonder if there is a difference between low and standard height too...

Re: New seat for 2021 RT
I have run a Sergeant seat on my 2019 RT 1250 for last 7,000 miles, and for me its far better than stock. At over £400 it seemed pricey, but it works for me.
Whilst the std seat (I use the standard seat in High position) is fine for 100 - 130 miles on a full day out I get a numb bum and at that point shuffling does not cure it.
Sargent seat is even firmer, and with wider 'wings' it made the first few stops strange as putting a foot down felt strange...now I'm used to it.
Wanted vinyl, not leather and for a short delivery time (and avoiding UK Customs charges) I came down to just 3 choices: Touratech, Wunderlich and Sargent.

Re: New seat for 2021 RT
After a rest from BMW bikes when my 2007 RT was stolen i rode many different makes. I had an old Honda 550k, That had a really thick seat which was very comfortable. The 2000 gold wing was like an armchair. Newer bikes seem to be designed with thin flat seats which gave me bum burn within an hour. The RE Himalayan which i still own gives the pain in the ass within half an hour. Air cushion sorted that out The problem is most are too narrow for my gluteus maximus. End of last year i bought another 2007 RT. My longest ride with wee stops has been 450 miles My bum remained pain-free. My legs did feel a bit champed, lowing pegs should sort this. I thing that helped my wide botty was turning the heated seat on for about 10 minutes at a time. This seemed to stop any pain also it was 8c.
Saying all these seats are like oil, tyres, shoes. So what's comfortable for one person may be a right pain for another. You really must try before buying. I can become an expensive choice until getting it right.
