Dunlop have sent me this fitment guide for my bike.

Interesting that they list three tyres which might be considered more "sport" than "sport touring" in, Sportmax GPR-300, Sportsmart Mk3 & Qualifier Core.

As has been highlighted elsewhere, they are all the same speed & load rating. Mileage might be variable.

For comparison, this is the original RoadSmart tread pattern.

I ran the Road Smart 3's on my last RTP and thought they were great. As good as the Michelin 4's they replaced and substantially less expensive.

I've had RoadSmart IV GT's on for 1500 miles now, the grip in the dry is fantastic, there is very little difference in the wet. They turn in to a corner quicker that the Metzeler Roadtec 01's that were fitted previously and give more grip.

Did 5,000 miles on the RS2's last year. Just checked the remaining serviceable tread depth to the TWI's in the centre of each tyre. Front = 1.5mm, Rear = 3.0mm. Quiet impressed with the tyre wear, I normally change the tyres once per year at this kind of mileage.

The RS2's have now done 5,870 miles with the remaining serviceable tread depth to the TWI's in the centre of each tyre, Front = 1.0 mm, Rear = 2.5 mm. By the time I've been to Wales & back (700 miles) they should be ready for changing after a total of 6,570 miles, IMO, that is quiet good. The rear would still be serviceable but will change F&R as a pair.

Not a bad estimate, did 711 miles. Will check the remaining tread depths later.

The RS2's have now done 6,600 miles. In the centre of the tyre, the front is still at 1.0 mm to the TWI and the rear is now down to 2.0 mm to the TWI. As the ride is still compliant, will continue to use them.

The RS2's have now done 7,500 miles. In the centre of the tyre, the front is still at 0.5 mm to the TWI and the rear is now down to 2.0 mm to the TWI. As the ride is still compliant, will continue to use them. At £225 for a pair plus fitting to loose wheels, I'll certainly get them again from National Bike Tyres, https://www.nationalbiketyres.co.uk/pai ... pair-deals

I'd be looking to bin my tyres at those treads, they are all that hold you to the road, for the sake of another 500 miles I'd rather have new rubber ;)

Well if you had been caught in a rain shower over the last 3 days, you would have worked out "why" it's not advisable to ride so close to the legal limit.
